‘Tales of Beadle the Bard’ for the commoner

After giving a fitting finale to the Harry Potter series, author J.K.Rowling brought out Tales from Beadle the Bard to an elite audience with just one book put up for auctions at Sotheby’s. Seven handwritten and illustrated copies of the book, made by Rowling herself came out in November. The money raised from the lone auctioned copy went to the Children’s Voice Foundation, a charity that works with child victims of neglect and abuse in Eastern Europe. What is disheartening is that Rowling’s ‘way to say goodbye’ to the world of Potter never reached the commoner’s homes. One continues to hope that some publishing giant quickly grabs this opportunity and publishes it for the Potter-starved public! After all, this is one way to make sure he remains ‘The Boy who lived’!
